Walt---It's been years since I did this job, so if I missed a step,
maybe someone can point it out.
Turn the adjusting screw CCW till it disconnects from the threads in the
needle bushing. (Three or four turns should do it)

Back out the (spring loaded) retainng screw in the side of the air
valve.

At this point, the needle should come out the bottom of the air valve.
If may resist coming out, so a few drops of lacquer thinner and/or some
WD-40 would help. Put it into the threaded bore where the retaining
screw was.

With the needle now out of the air valve, turn valve upside down on the
work bench and, using a wooden dowel or brass punch, tap the o-ring and
its bushing out the other end. Put some heavy oil into the dashpot, to
minimize the "star"-scoring the bore. The star washer will come out with
it. This washer has a proper name, that I don't recall.

After replacing the o-ring, reverse the order, tapping the star washer
down into the bore.

Screw the retaining screw part way into the air valve, until you can see
the point of the screw protruding.

Push the needle and case up into the air valve, lining up the keyway in
the case with the protruding retaining screw. This will keep the needle
case from turning in the bore, while...

Turn the needle height adjusting screw CW while pushing the needle up.
When you feel the threads "catch". Screw the retaining screw in the rest
of the way.

You should be home free.

Can someone tell me how to replace the little 0-rings that seal up the
dash pot cylinders on the Stromberg carbs? I have new seals and
retainers and would like to replace the old leaky O-rings; losing dash
pot oil rather quickly.
Thanks and best regards,
