The recommended gear lube for the differential is GL4 rated . I have
tried every auto parts store around & can only find GL5 rated products.
The only GL4 I found is Red Line MTL90 synthetic. I have no problem
dropping $10.00 a quart (maybe a little) but I would like to know if any
one has had some experience with this as a replacement.

Thanks

Mitch,
You might try a tractor dealer or truck stop, all of the tractor stores in
our area have GL4 gear lube, usually Castrol. Even if they only have 5
gallon pails in the showroom, they will usually pump a quart or two from the
shop and sell it to you if you ask. If you don't have a tractor store
around, TRF sells it in quarts also. I have not tried the RedLine but have
heard positive things about it and have no reason to think it would not work
fine.
