        Rusty:

As I have observed before, that is a really cool name for an LBC
enthusiast. =:-o

The valve you are referring to is not really a valve, it is a
PDWA (Pressure distribution warning assembly). All it does is trip a
switch if the front or rear brakes are misbehaving. It should illuminate
a lamp on your dash when something is wrong.
The earlier PDWAs are not rebuildable, as they supposedly use
cup type seals which are no longer made. I would imagine that your
rebuild kit is for the later style PDWA. If you are clever, you could
probably find cup seals from another application that will work. The
later PDWA assemblies use o-rings, and are easily rebuilt. So the
easiest thing to do may be to get a used later style assembly and
rebuild it using the kit you purchased. I have used o-rings from the
hardware store, and they work just fine too. They seem to last quite a
bit longer than the Lockheed parts, which is an added bonus.
There are many LBC wrecking yards in the US. I am partial to our
local wrecker, British Auto Works. NFI, just a family run business with
a real passion for British iron. www.britishautoworks.com They answer
their email, and have a phone listed on their web page. If you have a
favorite supplier for used parts, use them. Just be sure to specify that
you want the later type assembly with o-rings.

        Vance

i am looking for a brake part. it is the "mixing" valve that sends
the right amount of pressure to the front and rear brakes. anyone
have any idea a good place to get it? we have tried rebuild kits, but
the one we got did not actually fit.

this is for a 1968 tr250.

thanks in advance,

rusty greer
