[6pack] VIN Plate remounting

Need some help here. I am restoring (Very slow) a 73 TR6. During body work the 
painter removed the VIN plate to avoid painting and masking it. Now I here it's 
illegal. All the other numbers haven been toched, just the one in the drivers 
side door post. Has anyone gone thru this? What rivets should I use to remount 
the plate. I guess I need the original type...where can I get these?
