Yes, the Valvoline VR1 Racing Oil is SM rated, and still carries a 1300ppm
amount of Zinc and 1200ppm amount of Phosphorus. The API SM has nothing to
do with the ZDDP additives in oil, this proves that. The API SM just means
that the oil is rated for gasoline engines.
