 Aldwyn,

While true most of the time, it is possible to add a switch to the J-type 
gearbox to allow the car to shift into OD in second gear, even if it is a 
j-type.? I know of one list member who has done exactly that, with a converted 
4 speed to j-type gearbox.

If it's working in 2nd gear, then it's the older A Type overdrive, as the J 
Type only worked in 3rd and 4th gears.?
