Thanks for the help and the pictures. I soaked the mirror in lacquer thinner
for about an hour yesterday and the mirror popped out. I drilled out the
little brass rivets and everything is now apart. The back will go in for a
coat of powder today and the stem is off the California for plating. I am
going to call around today and see if there is a specialist to do the
re-silvering of the mirror.
If you have a nice mirror and don't want to lose your silver, mineral spirits
would be a good move. Mine was in need anyway. I am hoping I can replace
those little rivets with exact kind when it's all over.
