The Lucas starter used in Sunbeam Arrows/'69 Alpins and thge Plymouth Cricket
all are front engaged, pre-engaged starters. Thar shoudl solve the problem
and Cricket starters are surprisingly easy to find.

Besides being large, the Lucas units eat the teeth off the flywheel quite
regularly also. A starter that uses the front side of the teeth would be
nice also.
