FWIW, I find that when Kiersten beats me by a significant amount, she tends 
to have more pick-up.  This is especially true on the fronts.  I assume it 
is a result of lower slip angles, but I have no way to verify this.  I know 
that our tires are a little bigger than an Ford, but the same principal may 
apply.

OTOH, the 10W30 may work.
