If your M3 has ASC+T (traction control) then all four wheels' ABS are operated
independently.  If your M3 does not have ASC+T, then the rear wheels are 
operated
together.

Oh, and it does have great brakes/ABS!  I generally threshold brake until I feel
one wheel start to ABS -- then I know I'm on the edge.  But you don't want to 
stomp on the brakes -- you'll get both fronts ABS'ing before the weight shifts.
And you don't want to slam it on so far that you get all four wheels ABS'ing -- 
in that case there is some loss of braking power and total loss of feel.
