I hope so! The entire 1/4 involves more than just torque and the LS1 has at
least 60hp on ya.

My previous L98 would practically fall on it's face at about 4500. Anything
more than that and I was making more noise than power. However, at launch
time, the thing was unbeatable - definitely better than the LT1 that
replaced it. Once the initial launch was done, the LT1 simply would outrun
the L98 and the LT1 will clear 5800 before signs of running out of breath
show up. A friend's LS1 SS car will clear 6200 and still pulls there. If you
let up on the clutch at idle and are just barely moving and then jump on it,
The LS1 just aint got it compared to the L98. The LT1 isn't as different,
but it is. All 3 have 3.42 rears (or thereabouts) and all were manual except
the L98. (easier to do the barely moving thing...)

BTW - My best 1/4 time with the L98 was 14.3/102 and 13.8/106 with the LT1.
The L98 had .02 better average 60' times though.....

I get the idea that we can agree completely on the Posi thing. I'd bet the
6-cyl cars have problems with it.......
