In that same vein, Porsche authorizes the use of the updated
tensioner, but it doesn't have to be done. The bolts *may* be used. A
frame straightening device would also result in a correct alignment
(but a more radical method to bring a car into spec.).

FWIW, I was the person who submitted the TSB to Howard. Thinking back
on it, it was funny how this approval of the bolts was passed on to
other MR2 owner's VERY quickly. :-)
