Jamie Sculerati gave me an old 4-point harness of his. (Thanks again,
Jamie!)

I figured out how to make it work on my car (the shoulder belts snapped
right on to eyebolts on the stock rear seat attachments, and I snapped
both lap belts onto the stock lap belt tongues. I yanked on both ends to
engage the locks, and cinched down before my run.) The locks never let
go during our runs, and I was SECURE!

I started out looking for the harness for my wife, who is small (110
lbs) and gets thrown around when she drives. She was complaining that
all she could do was hang on to the wheel. Yesterday, the harness simply
made her a much more confident driver, and she came within a couple
seconds of the pack (very remarkable change). I just never thought it
would make such a difference for me (250 lbs, 6'4")! I thought that I
was getting a lot out of the car (for my skill level, that is), but I
was way wrong.

I could feel EVERYTHING! I felt like I was part of the car. I felt like
I could make it do anything. And when the car wanted to misbehave, I
knew about it right away, and I could correct it. I felt like I could
rotate the car by lifting the throttle, and turn around cones on a dime.
I really believe that without the harness, my best time on Sunday would
have been at least a second slower!!!

Here's the point: If you're a newbie or a long-time bone-stock driver
looking for something to help improve your times, this is it. Go out and
get a harness! You'll never go back!

BE the CAR! NA NA na na na na... (go watch Caddyshack again)
