Eric Linnhoff said something about how the cameras are close enough to hear the
announcer and times -- well, sort of. They did have mikes near the cameras to
pick up the sounds of the cars going 'round, etc., but they were wired directly
into the PA system to get announcer audio in the cleanest possible way. I
suspect they mixed the mike and the PA audio on the final product (didn't buy
the tapes this year, spent the money instead on moose products at a shop in
Crown Center in KC, which made the wife/crew chief/logistics manager
considerably happier than a videotape of my runs would have).
