The above will protect you from wienie protests.

In the real world, I pinned my Spridget hood to the stock hinges at the rear
and pinned the hood to the radiator cross-member at the front.  This allowed
me to open the hood and use the stock prop-rod by pulling the front two
pins.  By additionally pulling the rear two pins, I could remove the hood
entirely.  This was a great convenience.  The Spridget hood is IN THE WAY of
light, vision and accessibility for darn near any work.  With the hood
removed, the accessibility was very good.  Was this legal in Street
Prepared?  No.  Only adding the front pins was legal (I had to remove four
bolts from each rear hinge to get the system to work).  Lucky for me, my
class was remarkably free of wienies, even when I tromped them all (this
required a "technical" course).
