OK, so it's the off-season, but that doesn't mean I have to stop thinking
about driving.

After watching the video tapes from Nationals, I couldn't help but
observe something about my 3rd run. While I thought I was faster
(except for the spin near the end) I was very very very un-smooth
(crunchy?). I'm guessing it's because I was pushing myself to
drive closer to the limit than I had been all year. I had gotten somewhat
complacent during regional and divisional events this last year
because the previous year I spun more than a new top on Christmas.
Well, I did improve during the year - my car control was much more
consistent and my lines were better. I was even pretty competitive
regionally. The problem was I wasn't pushing myself to drive at the
limit. I was playing it safe.

So, my general question is, what can you do to be smooth at the
car's limits? Anything except keep pushing yourself and getting
used to the feel on the edge?
