Hi Pat-

At the risk of sounding like a certain "person" (originally said "wimp" but
didn't wanna get nasty-grams from Bleeding Heart Liberal Katie!) in the Oval
office, "I feel your pain." My trusty Lucretia coughed up a rod bearing at one
of our events recently. . . It too was MY daily driver as well as my race car.
(I've had to drive that darned ol' E Jag to work. Ain't THAT a shame!)

Anyway, the thing to focus on, like I did, was the way our racing "families"
help us out at times like that. I turned down half-a-dozen rides when the MG
took a dump. The folks I race with wanted me to run that afternoon, and offered
to let me drive various kinds of cars. I didn't accept any of the offers, but I
know they were all genuine, and I'd have been welcome to use whatever "iron" was
available. Gene Rolfe, as usual, came to my rescue, letting me tow Lucretia
home on his trailer behind his RV, while he drove his Lotus home. Gene and Tom
"Monkey Boy" Harrington came to the house on a Saturday and helped me pull and
tear down the motor. Hey, I even got "sympathy card" emails from people. . .
And at least 'some' of them were serious! (OK, maybe 'one' of them? Maybe?)

Hang in there, Bro, you'll have the ol' girl up and "Moooo-ving" around before
you know it. And I know that Lucretia will live again, too. (Darn MG motor
lacked 5 months being 30 years old. Those British cars just don't hold up, ya
know??)

Peace, Love, & Pushrods-
