A little on the sidewalls will have a bit of
Armor-All effect (but Armor-All will NOT preserve or restore the tread
surface).
===========================
Oh come on Rocky, you haven't lived until you've Armor-All'd your motorcycle
tires and seat. Believe me, you only do that once. =8^O

There are other similar and dissimilar products out there,
including blatant softeners (which FVTT is not). I'd really wonder if what
that "nameless team" was using was FVTT.
===========================
Before I discovered FVTT I bought a gallon of stuff called Bite Tire
Softener made by VP Racing Fuels from a local roundy-roundy supply store. It
definitely softened the tires. Made 'em gummy almost. Indeed they stuck
like glue if you used them within 24 hours. Much past that though and they
started to dry out again and you ended up with a "drier" tire than before.
It also greatly increased the wear on the tires as you could literally watch
the tires disappear like CP slicks. It's great for drag slicks where
maximum straight line stick is needed but it sucks on Toyos and Kumhos. I
gave the last 1/3 gallon of it to a drag racer friend who finally got his
1.8 liter Honda Del Sol into the 12s at the local 1320 with all motor, no
boost or squeeze. HE really likes the Bite Tire Softener. Before he was
getting consistent 13.1s but now gets consistent 12.9s.

I also "loaned" him some FVTT to restore his Toyos that he ran all this year
(which I ran all last year) and he liked that too. Kept 'em sticky all the
way to cord. After 2 years of being run the Toyos finally gave up the
ghost.  ;^)

I'll treat what's left of my Kumhos with FVTT before I store them in bags in
the basement off of the floor for the winter.
