It's possible, but it might take some work, on the car and driver.

>2) How damaging to my driving would it be to drive both cars in one season?

Probably not to bad, but to fully enjoy and get the most out of the
F440 it will take your full concentration for a while. They are fast
and each has it's own quirks that you will have to tame and master.
Getting the last couple of tenths out of them takes time. Plus, the
driving style of a FWD and a RWD are quite different.

>3) How expensive, and what does it entail to run a 440 in F mod (tires,
>rebuild, clutches, belts)?

Once it is set up the cost is very resonable. The biggest expense is
tires and you could go a season on 1 set, but if you are serious, you
will go through a minimum of 2 sets @500 per set. With 1 set
purchased just before Nationals.

>4) Can a 440 be a competitive car in F mod, or would I need a 500?

YES. Chuck Vobril won in '96, I won in '99 with another F440 in
second, and in 2000 Chuck was 2nd and I was 4th with a F500 in 3rd. An
F500 won in '97 and '98 with me in second both those years. The F500
has not been as dominate in Solo 2 as it has been in road racing.

>5) Am I crazy?

Yes, welcome aboard! We always have room for more. And have fun.
