Another motor company leaving the fold> I received
this from the datsun-roadster list:

Well not only are all of our parts getting hard to
find but I recieved official notice from Nissan
Motorsports today that as of April 1st 2001 Nissan
will cease all
racing
activity to do with club racing(SCCA,ARRC,Nasport,ETC
and will no
longer
supply contingency money or parts support or any on
site activity
related to the SCCA Run-offs. So far there is no
problem with normal
motorsports parts sales and availibilty.
There will still be an IRL program it is very likely
there will be no
racing program or development of parts for the new Z
when it is
corrected and finally released in 200?
This is a sad day for the great Nissan/Datsun who have
hosted a tent at
the run-offs since 1967. I sure hope this can be
corrected and wish the
good guys at Nissan Motorsport all the best.
