Ok, it is now a month after this thread started, and I'm just now ready to
respond!

The question was "Where does one go to find automotive events online?"

jmb recommended...

Jeff Nielsen (aka Ugo himself) pointed out...

And from M(no A)S
>> you might want to consider security and privacy concerns. You'd be surprised
what a web search can reveal from all the unsecure solo2 event info that clubs
post all across the country; you're dirty laundry is hanging all over the web
for anyone to see ... <<

All good! Those sites certainly have some impressive features and quite a list
of events. And Mr Sipe is -exceedingly- correct about the potential personal
security pitfalls that a club websites might fail to consider or address when
posting event results.

I didn't want to let the cat out of the bag before all the chickens were hatched
:-) but here are a few function points that MyAutoEvents.com now adds to the
mix...

User Tools:
* Easy to use search engine with category, location, timeframe, and *distance*
based search criteria
* Individualized personal event calendars
* Automated email based registration reminders
* Search Agents to alert when new events are added that meet saved criteria
* -Secure- stored personal profile (stored in a database that isn't indexed by
the site search engine or accessible by web crawlers) that can be used to
process event registration *without* re-entering information (almost "one-click"
online registration, but not quite).

Event Promoter tools:
* Collaborative event listing management: Event organizers are NOT dependant on
a webmaster to process changes to their event listing - promoters can do it
themselves or proxy this capability to another individual.
* Receive and process registration requests online - with a confirmation message
optionally sent to the entrant
* Group notify all processed entrants or alert all *potential* entrants (based
on event inclusion in users personalized calendars) if/when event details change
* Dynamically generate entry lists (HTML, Excel, and TS98/99 format for
starters) from processed entries

There's more, and I invite you to explore for yourself:
