The April 2002 edition of North American Pylon is in the mail on its way to
subscribers in the U.S. and Canada. And also to the subscriber in Trinidad
and Tobaggo who has to use a mailing service to forward his copy.
(If you live close to a Tower Records/Books Store you can buy a
copy for $2.)

This month we cover:
-The Fort Meyers National Tour where crafty George Bowland set FTD
in his new A Mod "Shark."
-Erik Strelnieks and Katie Elder won the top two challenges at the
El Toro (SoCal) Pro Solo.
-Tom Harrington used his go-kart to defeat a gaggle of full-sized
cars to set FTD at the San Diego, CA, National Tour. Steve O'Blenes had the
fastest car.
-Dick Rasmussen beat Stan Vann in C Mod at the Virginia Motor
Sports Club '02 opener.
-Texas Spokes SCC staged a pair of events at a new-to-them site
near Austin, TX. C Prepared transplant Tommy Regan driving a VW (say WHAT?)
left the pavement. We have pictures!
-Porsche Club of America's active Golden Gate Region invaded 3Com
Park at Candlestick Point in San Francisco and did some heavy duty
splashing.
-Across the SF Bay, SCCA-San Francisco Region was splashing at The
Network Associates Coliseum in Oakland, CA. Howell Leung set FTD in a
Toyota MR2.
-Allon Adar-Burla snags top time at Las Vegas #3.

Columns:
-Pat Kelly recalls how she got started in autocrossing.
-Editor John Kelly tells how the Washington DC Region is having
growing pains.
-Lorenzo the Scribe reveals how an insurance company exec used a
Maine club's Internet-posted event results to determine several of his
clients were "racing" their cars and cancelled their personal auto
insurance coverage.
-Warren Leveque claims membership in the Flat Earth Society and
that what's "new and modern" isn't necessarily better. It's just "new and
modern."
-Physicict Brian Beckman explains a racing simulator.
-Ben Thatcher tells how Atlanta Region is handling its growth.
-Guest columnist Chris Petersen proposes some new classes: Super
Duper Stock, Lawyer Stock, Soccer Mom Stock, Holy Guacamole! Stock, and
Hankook Stock.

Plus: Cartoons, Garage Sale (ads free to subscribers), and the most
complete autocross calendar anywhere. This includes the correct CenDiv
Series schedule.
(After we went to press we learned CenDiv's Divisional will be Aug.
10-11 at Grissom AFB, Peru, IN.)
