You don't think that any of those French owned companies employ any US 
citizens to sell their products, do you?

Perhaps if one were to avoid these companies it might have a negative 
effect on those employees? As an example, there are four Michelin tire 
plants in the Carolinas. Reduced or stopped production for those employees 
might be detrimental to their financial stability. Think of the retailers 
who sell these products. They might have to layoff or close the doors to 
there shops. Yes, I would suspect a fair amount of the store owners and 
employees are Americans.

Dannon has factories in the US. US Dairy farmers supply Dannon with milk.
