super chips?

Has anyone tried "chipping" a car? Is this something worth doing?
If so, can anyone recommend a chip for the 1998 year 4.6L Ford
Cobra engine? I've been emailing a guy at Superchips. They seem
like they know what they're doing, their dyno chart looked good,
but appearances can be deceiving. I'd appreciate any first-hand
experiences or advice.
