Did someone say heavy?
Jeff got the Bimmer weighed on Saturday to the tune of
3400lbs and change.
Which explains why it was so reluctant to change
directions. At first I thought it was just my driving
style and being really rusty in a RWD car.
In steady state corners and long sweepers the 330 does
pretty well. Start tossing it back and forth at speed
though and things get really interesting very quickly
(Anyone see my spin through the finish lights on
Saturday?).
Saturday's course had enough power sections that we
were somewhat competitive in the machine, despite
relly bad and variable track conditions.
Fast forward to Sunday and the dry grippy concrete
combined with a course heavy on the transitions and
our goose was "broasted" so to speak.
However, the Bimmer does has some serious torque, and
has me thinking of another STS project car....but
that's for when I have a job again someday.
Thanks again to Jeff for giving me the chance to drive
his car, and if he ever gets a set of coilovers on
that thing...A) I'm his co-driver and B) look out.
Paul
