E-MOd wing rules Q

Had fun at the Reno Divisionals and met nice folks up there, one of my opponent 
has a
'rear wing' mounted on stands/upright.
Did i read the SCCA Rule Book incorrectly?
I thought that a rear spoiler needs to be attached directly to the body and a 
10.0 inch height limit.

I know that A-MOd and B-Mod are exceptions.

Any thoughts?
