I concur w/ Navid here from my experience w/ the BMW club where I
regularly finish in the top 20% and here I am #5 in STX. Many of
them are just out to have fun in their stock Bimmers.
That said, they pay $50 per event(including lunch)to get 6 runs plus
fun runs. For this I drive to Marina.

Actually, having lived in another region (central florida) and run
with several clubs
here & there I think the SFR people are about as serious a group of
autocrossers
as I have ever seen. Certainly the SFR group is quite dedicated
compared to the
marque clubs (Porsche/BMW/Lotus), the local clubs (e.g. empire,
former NASA), etc.
