Another Brick in the Wall: Tire Rack SCCA National Tour Season

Hits Halfway Point This Weekend at Atwater's Castle Airport

TOPEKA, Kan. (April 28, 2006) - After spending much of April touring the
south central portion of the United States, the Tire Rack(r) SCCA Solo
National Tour wraps up its busy month with a stop at Castle Airport in
Atwater, Calif., where more than 300 men and women are set to compete.

The weekend will be the second "Golden State" event in as many months,
and will be the final California National Tour stop of 2006. It also
marks the official halfway point of the year's slate, as just five more
events will remain before September's Tire Rack(r) SCCA Solo National
Championships in Topeka.

Twenty drivers make up the Super Stock field, led by reigning B Street
Prepared Solo Nationals Champion Rita Wilsey, of Lake Elsinore, Calif.
Wilsey will team up and co-drive with another current champion in
Atwater as 2005 B Street Prepared Ladies Champ Lori Robertson, of Chino
Hills, Calif., as the pair drives the Kumho 1989 Chevrolet Corvette.

Familiar names such as Kevin Dietz, of Federal Way, Wash.
(Evolution/Jim's Detail Shops 2003 Chevrolet Corvette) and co-driving
teammates Leslie Cohen and Mark Duerst, of Encinitas, Calif. (Brindle
Racing/Leslie Cohen Design 2003 Corvette Z06), are also in SS and could
just as easily finish on top.

At the first California event in San Diego, Joe Goeke, of Kirkland,
Wash., took the top spot in B Stock in his Team Butt Heat! 2005 Mazda
RX-8. Goeke beat out Jason Isley, of Ladera Ranch, Calif., and Isley
will have his shot at revenge as he is entered in his
MazdaSpeed/Kumho/sccaforums.com 2005 Mazda RX-8.

Another set of San Diego 1-2 finishers are ready for another fight as
winner Scotty B. White, of Puyallup, Wash., in his
Kumho/SRT/Forgeline/Corsa/NayKid Racing 2004 SRT Dodge Viper, and
runner-up Chris Cox, of Morgan Hill, Calif., in his Midland
Cabinets/Ankeny Racing Ent. 2002 Porsche GT2, renew their mini-rivalry
in A Street Prepared.

Henry Botkin, of Jamul, Calif., was tops among E Street Prepared
competitors in San Diego, and he'll try to make it two-for-two in
California events this weekend, co-driving his C2 Motorsport/CCC

Racing/Kumho Tire 2002 Chevrolet Z28 with his son, Conor, who is looking
for his first top-three finish of the season.

With four top-two finishes in four events in 2006, no one is ahead of
Street Touring Sport 2 driver Andy Hollis currently. The Austin,
Texas-competitor has a win (Walnut Ridge) to go along with three
runner-ups, and the odds appear to be in his favor to push his top-two
streak to five events. With a third, Steve Coe, of Lemon Grove, Calif.,
finished one spot behind Hollis in San Diego, and, in his C2 Motorsports
1990 Mazda Miata, is a potential threat along with several other STS2
drivers.

Highly-regarded SCCA ProSoloist Vic Sias, of Santa Clara, Calif., is on
the Street Modified entry list in his 2002 BMW M3, and will be tough to
unseat. If the reigning SM Solo Nationals Champion does stumble this
weekend, however, it could open the door for a handful of others,
including '05 Solo Nationals E Street Prepared third-place finisher
Navid Kahangi, of Saratoga, Calif. (eXtreme Performance/Vishnu Tuning
2005 BMW M3), to take the class win.

The first car will leave the line at 9:15 Saturday morning, opening up
the first of five heats. Sunday's action is set to begin at 8 a.m. and
will be immediately followed by an afternoon awards presentation upon
completion of the final heat.
