Is anyone going to the Merced County Board of Supervisors meeting on Riverside
Motorsports Park on Tuesday November 14th to show our support? I've been
thinking about going and will take others if they want to meet me in
Pleasanton.

Importance: High

UPDATE and REQUEST:

On 25 October, the Merced County Planning Commission will be holding a
hearing and vote to approve and recommend the Riverside Motorsports Park
(RMP) project to the Merced County Board of Supervisors. The hearing on 25
October will be technical in nature and address most, if not all, of the
environmental and engineering aspects studied within the EIR.

Then, on 14 November, the Merced County Board of Supervisors will hold two
(2) final hearings -- one in the morning and one in the evening -- for EIR
certification and approval of entitlements regarding the RMP project. In
addition to various technical discussions, this hearing will include
discussions on the various types of motorsports supported by the RMP
facility, as well as potential business development, economic impacts,
demographics and race fans, motorsports and family values, motorsports and
its support of local business, and other tangible and intangible discussion
issues.

I would like to invite you to join these hearings and provide supportive
testimony regarding the RMP project. Your presence alone would be greatly
appreciated... but supportive words to the Planning Commission and/or Board
of Supervisors would mean much more. If your schedule is such that you
could only make one meeting date of the two, please put an emphasis on the
14 November date.

I hope that we can count on your support at either or both meetings. And,
please inform club members, co-workers, race fans and anyone else that can
lend their support at one or both meetings by attending. We have 2,000 RMP
hats to distribute to supporters at these meetings, providing quite a visual
effect. Should you have any questions, please call myself (209.564.6742) or
Mark Melville (209.598.6275) to discuss the issues or travel plans. Travel
costs will be reimbursed.

All the best -
