| Anybody got a digital camera that can take a picture of the xmission
linkage on a 75? I need a picture of the neutral/park (N/P) safety switch
and the associated linkage. The N/P switch is located on the back of the
bell housing on the drivers side.
I managed to put in about 6 hrs today, trying to find bushings etc. to put
the linkage back together. What do I have to show for todays work? The
N/P switch is mounted on it's mounting plate, and the intermediate shaft
is connected to it, 2 sets of nuts and bolts and 1 clip. Man what a wast
of a day. I'm still trying to find the box with all the parts in it.
When I take something apart, I put all the pieces for that item in baggies,
with a slip of paper telling me what it is, and where it goes. Then these
baggies get put in boxes, shoe and oil boxes make great storage containers.
I also have a habbit of taking things too far apart. OH well, now all I need
is a couple of more bushing/grommetts; weld up a new threaded end on the long
xmission linkage arm, of course mine was so rusted that it broke when I tried
to remove the nut. Find the light assembly and spring for the floor shifter
mechanism and I might get it together.
Probably the only thing that went 1/2 way right, was I put the accelerator
cable on the firewall. Boy was that tough - just push the square end into
the square hole - about 5 seconds.
