| I'm not sure about the Bricklin but my understanding is that on the early 
cars (74 was the first year for most) the bumper shocks are filled with a 
compressable material (like styrofoam).  Once it's compressed, it will not 
come back.  You can pull it out but it can easily be pushed back in.
