There is an easy fix for the headlight popping up.This applies primarily to
the 75 with the single vacuum unit to control the lights although it may
work on the 74.First,you need to go to the front of the car and locate the
headlight actuating unit(what IS the actual name of it?).It has a horde of
vacuum lines attached to it and it should be on the driver's side behind the
turn signal. You need to detach the top vacuum hose, connect a hose to the
actuating unit and run it to the passenger compartment where it's easily
accessible.Connect a shut off valve(any kind will do)and run a hose from it
back to the hose you had first disconnected from the actuating unit.Once the
headlights are down, close the valve and they will stay down when you start
the car.Open the valve when you are going to turn on the lights.
