board for some reason]

Greg,

Thanks for the info. Is your Brick a 74 or 75? I'm doing the same as you
with electric fans (one on each side of the radiator) but haven't been brave
enough to tackle headers yet. Does anyone know of headers for the AMC
engines that fit a 4 speed Brick without too much trouble? I'll bet
President Jim could tell us given the the hot 401 he built. I'm curious to
know how that beast ran since I couldn't make the nationals this year. Will
anyone spill the beans or do I have to wait for the next edition of the
Brickline? :-)

Other questions for this august body:

1) Does anyone know if the 74 4-speeds had the 3.54 gears that were discussed
in the pre-production memos (published in the Brickline) or if they got the
3.15s that went in the automatics? Yeah, I know, pull the cover and count the
ring and pinion teeth. I'll do that if I have to.

2) Opinions on a limited slip differential carrier? I've seen the twin grips
for the AMC 20 floating by on eBay for reasonable prices (< $100 in some
cases). Are there any other traction secrets that I should know about that
work well with the Brick suspension? What's the maximum wheel size &
backspacing that can realistically be installed without rubbing or looking pro
street? My 390/401 is only running on the front 2 barrels and I can spin the
tires too easily :-)

3) Why are the East and West regionals scheduled so closely to each other and
to the Nationals? The E and W's appear to only be a week apart and the Nats
were just last month. Is everyone trying to take advantge of the nice late
summer weather? I'm just bummed because 760 isn't long trip trustworthy yet.
Give me another couple of months and maybe :-)

Thanks as always, Sean
