There are several freeze plugs in the engine block. They can rust out so
freezing isn't the only way to damage one. If it was leaking very much, you
should
have noticed it while running the engine and it would have gotten very hot
very quickly. Once you can get under the car, it shouldn't be hard to track
down
the source.
