| To my knowledge, it can not be opened and serviced.
If your air system does not have a oiler/dryer on it, then you might try 
introducing
a little bit of "air tool oil" into your ram.  The seals are probably dried 
out and letting air go by.
The oil will swell the seals back out. Just disconnect the air line at the 
ram and give it a good squirt.
I use a water trap/oiler for that very purpose, but I am using the hydraulic 
rams that came with the car, which do require oiling or the seals will dry 
out
