for the storage space resulting from going from 2 6v batteries
to 1 12v battery? (that's anyone HAVE any neat uses"..) I thought
of looking for a Tupperware container that might hold perhaps oil

You can get specially made plastic "battery bins" as, in the Uk at least, the
metal bars always rust out. The bins are a custom fit and you can put all sorts
of goodies in it like Radiator stop leak, maybe some tools, some johnnys if ya
meet a bird (this statement is intended to stimulate the abdomenal muscles of
those of you who get it), or what about a spare battery as the altenator will
of course resent the change you have made so you will need a spare until you
find a more cooperative one.
