You could take the cheapo route like I did. A piece of 3/8" vacuum
hose will fit perfectly on the shaft. Inside and outside diameters
match just right! So cut yourself a piece off the vacuum hose about
1/4" long and slide it on the shaft. Grease it up real good with
silicon so that it will slide on easy. Silicon is great because it
doesn't rot rubber. It's bad because it breaks down under load. Mine
have been installed for about 5 months now and still are working
great. I slit one of my homemade bushings so that I could install it
on the driver side without pulling the whole shaft out. Someone
already suggested slitting one of your bushings to get it in... I
think I would try that before using the vacuum hose method.
