Except, of course, that you won't find any regular bulbs running that 
same filament temperature because they wouldn't last very long, so they 
don't make them.  Compared to the regular bulbs you WILL find, halogens 
do have a hotter filament => whiter light => higher efficiency.  That's 
why 35w halogen sealed beam headlamps replace 50w, and ordinary 75w 
household bulbs have 50w halogen replacements for the same light (at 
least, that's what they say on the package).
