This question goes to all you lotus enthusiasts.
I have a freind who has brought a car that looks like an old
Lotus Seven and has an MG 1500 engine in it. The registration papers
says it's an Austin Seven Special, first registered in 1954, whereas
the insurance papers says it's an Lotus Special. As far as I know the
first Lotus Seven arrived in 1957, so this must be one of the very
early Lotus's.
My own guess is, that it's an Lotus mark 6, which I've
heard were sold as kit cars, with various engines (Ford and MG).
Does any of you outthere have some info of this car. How many build?,
which engines?, and so on.
Thanks,
Morten Friis
PS. About wire wheels;
To check the wires you just take the wheel off. Take a little hammer
and then give each wire a little knock on the middle. If each wire
makes exactly the same sound the wires are probably ok (or they are all bad!!).
Please correct me if I am wrong!
