Been there.  Done that.  Got the soovuneer 6-bladed fan to prove it!

It hasn't been too long ago I went through this.  Mine lost
several blades before I realized what was causing the "flam, bang"
from under the hood and rough, shaky running!

I suspect your fan will begin to come apart shortly.  As this 
happens, yes you will notice balance differences which will
probably start to do damage to rotating parts.  Try to find
out why the first blade broke.  Clearance is tight at best.  My
mounting bolt was loose.  Wobbles got it into the radiator frame.

Yes the red blade is history for new stock.  The yellow fan will
supposedly fit if you use the corresponding hub parts.  I located
two red fans by calling junk yards.  I bought from British Auto Specialists
(817-589-7974 in TX -- Jeff) and found another at Columbia Sports
Cars (803-754-5363 in SC -- Sid).
