The owner's manual from my 1980 MGB says:
"Use only Lockheed Disc Brake Fluid (Series 329S) or Castrol Girling
Brake Fluid; alternatively, use a brake fluid conforming to F.M.V.S.S
116 D.O.T.3 specification with a minimum boiling-point of 260 C
(500F)."
Chris Reichle asks about the vaccuum advance on his 1980 MGB:
If you are using the stock manifold and carburettor, the vaccuum
line runs from the distributor to a valve which is bolted to the
top of the pedal box. Another hose runs from that valve to the
carburettor. Vaccuum advance is active only when the gear box
is in 4th or overdrive. Otherwise the car depends only on the
mechanical advance.
