I had problems in my older cars, TR3 and Sprite come to mind. But when I
had newer cars like a 1970 TR6 and '71 MGB (both with alternators btw) they
never gave me problems. Was it the alternator circuits or just old age and
neglect? I can't really say. But my current 65 Elan and 61 Elva (both
with generators) have been pretty good. Of course they are not my only
cars and the Elva is driven infrequently.
