I have one on my '66 1600, and it requires a bit of twisting and turning to get the tranny out, at the point where the shift lever bolts in. I've found a high angle on the front of the engine, and twisting the engine to the driver's side will eventually allow me to clear the brace. It usually takes me a good half hour to get it back in place. I've often wondered about removing it . . . JH Bahn |
