Carb Swap

I know this isn't practical BUT is it feasible:

 Until I have the funds to rebuild or replace my worn out SU's on my 2L,  is
 it possible to swap over a set of good 1600 SU's UNTIL I can get around to
 the others?  Again, obviously NOT practical, but is it doable for short
 term?

 BTW-thank you all for the info on the rear diff's
