After such an experience with my first Datsun roadster meet/ride, I have
to offer my thoughts. It was a great meet and ride last Saturday for
the Colorado/Wyoming owners. Even though it wasn't as great in volume
of roadsters that show on the west coast for a meet, it was still superb
in quality of cars, owners, and riders. Add a big plus on tons of fun.
There was a wide range of years and varieties of Datsun roadsters, all
of which would rival any others anywhere in the US. We were also
surprised and honored that Barrie Strachan joined us. Now that we've
started this experience, we are all very excited that there is big
potential for making future meets/runs much bigger and better in the
future. I didn't think I'd ever get my autocrosser roadster out and
have so much fun outside of an autocross and that's saying a lot.
There's a host of many tremendous twisty highways in Colorado (and
Wyoming for that matter) for roadsters to challenge. For the potential
national Datsun meet for the year 2000, the Colorado Rocky Mountains is
the right place for it to happen.
