Well, with the colder weather approaching and the lack of an insulated
garage, my focus is changing from paint and body work to mechanicals. My
father and I built the motor last spring. I presented the problem of oil in
the coolant to all of you on the list and confered that most likely it was a
faulty head gasket. Some thought it may be oil residue from the machine
shop tank. I retorqued the head, and flushed the cooling system, but the
problem persists.

It has sat since then and now with head gasket in hand and nothin but time
(yeah right), I am ready to tackle the project. Depending on what I find, I
most likely will have my father machine the right rear oil galley and head
to accept a short piece of pipe to relieve the oil pressure from this weak
spot of the head gasket. Several of you thought this was possibly the
source. Is there a FAQ or does anyone have info on this? My father was
wanting to know what size tube was needed before we pulled the head
off-wants to make it a one day deal.

On a similar subject, it is feasible to glue one side of the head gasket to
limit the chance of a leak? I know I've asked this one before but couldn't
find any of your responses.

Thanks again!
Nathan
