Dumb Headlight question..

Hello All,
        So I am thinking about installing my nifty 80/100 watt Halogen H-4
headlights... Heres my dumb question.  How do you know which light goes
on which side.  The pattern in the glass is asymmetric.  With a pattern of
bigger squares off to onw side and down at an angle of like 45 deg. 
Does it matter??? Help!!!
