Tom:

Very timely advice since I'm about to do the job again, myself.

Don't know if you recall, but I had some valve adjustment questions of
you quite some time ago. I had, for years, been using a valve
adjustment sequence from an MGB book which is a longer means of arriving
at the same result. I welcomed your advice! My basic question at the
time was, "HOT"--how do you do that?? For me, with my procedure of
using a "come-along" to rotate the engine with the car in 4th, and the
MG book sequence, the procedure took about an hour, and I didn't believe
the engine to be very "hot" when completing. Your hints were very
useful, but MY knee will NOT move the car "back and forth". Still
using the come-along--even have a big eye-bolt installed in the garage
to hook it to :-).

I, primarily , wanted to express my appreciation for all of the very
knowledgeable advice that you provide to the list and your very generous
devoting of your time to answer virtually all questions posed, certainly
those to you directly.

I have two folders devoted to Roadster messages received; one labeled,
"Datsun", and the other labeled, "Walter D.M.". To give you an idea,
the Datsun folder is only about 3-4 times the size of the Walter DM
folder!

I experienced a "disastrous" hard drive crash in late Jan., nothing
could be retrieved from the disk. Fortunately, I had completely backed
up all my information on Jaz disks, supplemented by floppies. After the
drive replacement, I was able to restore virtually everything, all the
Quicken data and other financial, stock market stuff, correspondence,
etc. The only thing that posed a problem were my Netscape mail folders.

I finally located them amongst all the junk that had been copied from my
hard drive by the Dansk backup program. The strange thing is, the
folders contained the messages, not as individual messages as received,
but as a single long listing with each individual message preceded by
all the routing type stuff you see with a "bounced" message, if you know
what I mean. In attempting to print one out, it is necessary to
determine what page you want to print out of 130 pages of Walter DM
messages, as you scroll through it. I figured out a way to do it
proportionally.

A long lead in to a question: Do you know the URL of the Datsun
Roadster Archive? I got a "404" on the link that an Alta Vista search
provided.

Thanks, again. OBTW I do have another question. A slight "chirp" from
the Tach. at idle (about 1-2/sec.). Can't hear it when driving. Have
you run across this in a '68, and does it portend something bad?
