Interesting thought, but what about the people who don't race?   Got any
interesting twisties out there to enjoy for the recreational driver? 
What about any other interesting things about Topeka to attract such an
event?   When would this event be held?   Isn't heat and humidity a
problem in Kansas during the summer??   How about someone to host it?  
Local roadster club, serious roadster nut, etc??    Lots of factors to
consider besides just racing!   I would think that you'd want something
to draw everyone to, not just the racers...    
I do like the idea though...  it's a bit more fair to the East
Coasters.   I just hate the thought of driving across the eastern side
of Colorado and the western half of Kansas!  BOOOORRRRRRRINNNGGGGG!!! 
Put some mountains up or raise the speed limit to something
reasonable.... like Mach 3!!
