Subject: aircleaner/making "glass" parts
<<Hey all!
On to my topic-Is anyone familiar with any decent tech sites that shows how
to make your own fiberglass parts?>>
Nathan, try these.
http://www.westsystem.com/
(go to the user manual section. While it seems to speak of only epoxies,
(that is what they sell, so go figure) the techniques are relevant when
using cheaper materials (a la polyester resin), except when it comes to
chemical-minded phrases (like clean-up and solvent-thinning).
PLEASE NEVER MIX ACETONE WITH MEK (polyester catalyst), IN FACT, NEVER
HAVE/STORE THEM ON THE SAME TABLE TOGETHER. If a spill happens, and they
mix, the result is extremely combustible and unstable.
You just gotta have a "clean-up" area and a "catalize" area, and keep the
jugs separate.

(down to earth. as you can see, this is a BADROC link. From Van Pham, I
think? I definitely approve of the "humor-thoughout" theme)

try searching the -net for surfboard building techniques, I haven't saved
all of those pages, but there are some good down-to-earth production pages
there too. For myself, I'm going to glass the area between the front fender
and the wheel well, to keep the dirt/rocks from collecting, and causing rust
over time. (I'll take some pictures, make a how-to page like you did with
seat re-covering)
Good luck, feel free to contact me direct with any questions.
